Jellyfish Hymnal is the artist name I created when I first challenged myself to create art with an online audience. I have been sharing art and poetry on Instagram under this name since I began my international adventures, as well as I have published two books with the Jellyfish imprint!

(n.) A free-swimming soft-bodied marine creature composed of five percent flesh and ninety-five percent water.

 

Hymnal

(n.) A book of broken prayers, spoken tears, and love songs written to the Ocean, the Waves, and their Creator.

Jellyfish Hymnal

a little life yielded to the great big sea, chronicled in living hymns to infinite love, and doodled visions of things barely grasped.

I chose this name as my artistic identity to represent my goals: to pursue complete surrender and grow to be filled with things that are greater than myself. While I don't aspire to be gelatinous and brainless, I do aspire to fill and sustain myself with God in the same way that a jellyfish flows with and contains the ocean.
